Michael Luscombe is CEO of Woolworths Limited. He began his career with Woolworths in 1978 as a graduate trainee in Victoria. He became a store manager in 1980, later progressing to roles in training management and area management.

In 1994 he moved into buying and marketing before becoming Merchandise Manager and in 1995 he was appointed Operations Manager for Victoria. He later moved to Sydney to join Woolworths’ corporate support office as National Manager Banking where he was responsible for the development and launch of Ezy Banking.

Michael took on the job of Director of Supermarkets in August 2004, heading up the company’s largest trading division. He was appointed CEO in October 2006.

Michael is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of ALH Group. He is a current member of the Board of Directors of CIES – The Food Business Forum, which is the only independent global food business network.
